What is the best format for your podcast?
It is not always easy deciding what format will work for what type of content. But Zeljko Crnjakovic, Podcaster Producer at Backwater Entrepreneur in Serbia, has some ideas about what kinds of things podcasters should think about when they are building formats.
Zeljko thinks that there are some simple questions producers need to answer: What is your podcast about? What is your unique selling point? Who is your audience? How long does your audience have to listen?
Logistics are important. Do you have a producer? Do you have time to produce it yourself? Do you have enough good microphones?
And importantly, podcasters need to make sure that they can keep going doing what they are doing in the same way. Continuity is important. If you can't keep going at the same level over a series of episodes then you may have an issue.
