Jan-Willem Roodbeen has been on the air in The Netherlands since 1991. He continues to be a well-loved DJ and is part of the rich landscape of Dutch radio. He worked his way up through local radio and is a voice over artist on various (TV) programmes. His national radio debut was as an announcer on Radio 5 in 1998 after which he was a stand in on Radio 2, appeared in a number of commercials and worked in sales. What makes him great on the radio today is this long history of working not only as a presenter but also in other areas of radio and seeing radio produced from many different angles.
In the early 00’s he hosted a show called ‘Xnoizz' on 3FM which became a success and worked on various TV-formats and crossmedia concepts for a number of Years as chief editor and independent media professional. In 2006 he started with a daily evening show on NPO Radio 2, De Gouden Greep. Moving to the afternoon for AVROTROS in 2010, presenting a week day afternoon show call the ‘Roodshow’ on NPO Radio 2. From 2016 the ‘Roodshow Late Night' was born going out every Monday till Thursday from 22 to 24 pm. At the start of 2017 the Roodshow is also extended on Sunday mornings 9-12 am.
