Deezer is the streaming service you might not have heard of. Just like Spotify it’s in the podcast space, and for Ben Fawkes, Senior Manager at Deezer in Germany, the lack of awareness is as much of an opportunity as it is a challenge.

The group has launched a variety of successful podcasts targeting the 85% of the German population that is not listening to podcasts right now.

Crime is a popular genre in Germany and Deezer has taken advantage of this. They have been producing original content working with policemen, forensics and victims. It’s an exciting time and they are just about the commission a third season, so things are going really well.
